Photographic Workshop

Daniela Kofler was born in Italy in 1964. During and after her high school years she was a successful member of the Italian Ski Team on the downhill. She started her career as photographer in the family business, dating back to 5 generations of photographers. She was a student at the Hall school of photography in Tirol, Austria for 3 years and did her masters in Vienna, Austria. She gained valuable experience being the apprentice to famous fashion photographers in Milan such as Fabrizio Ferri and Oliviero Toscani (renowned for his provocative advertising campaigns for Benetton), followed by a year in Munich, Germany where she worked for an advertising studio. In 1984 Daniela opened her own studio, specializing in food photography.

In the years to follow, she had over 20 cookbooks published under her name, among which ‘Cucinare nelle Dolomiti’, of which 150.000 copies were sold. She got married to Alberto and had a son, Robby. In 1995 Daniela and her husband started traveling the African continent, visiting Kenya, Tanzania, Zambia, Botswana, Namibia, Mozambique and South Africa. Wildlife photos from her travels were shown all over Italy at various exhibitions. Africa eventually got the better of Daniela and her family and in 2006 she permanently moved to South Africa. She now successfully runs a guesthouse at Kruger National Park and organizes photographic workshops. Contact us for our detailed 5 days or tailor made program.
